Some angels definitely have a problem when it comes to food. When their overeating gets out of control, as with Johannes, they are sent straight back to earth as a punishment. His only chance to return to heaven is by doing a good deed, and with Christmas rapidly approaching, time is running out…
What makes that a bit tricky, as Johannes soon discovers, is that angels on earth are often mistaken for mad lunatics. After a few really weird and embarrassing encounters, Johannes runs into Gabriela, a doctor, and her son Julian, who after a tragic accident is sadly confined to a wheelchair.
A warm affection quickly develops between Johannes and the boy, who is drowning himself in guilt over the accidental death of his father. While Johannes fights to cure his friend, an arrogant neurologist believes he has finally caught up with an escaped schizophrenia patient – Johannes. 
Captured and confined to a straightjacket, Johannes ruefully sees his chances of giving Julian a new life and then returning to heaven in time quickly evaporating…
