Happily married for 20 years, Silke’s world is suddenly thrown into chaos when she catches her husband Richard red-handed in an affair.
To make matters worse, Richard decides to move in with his new fling, Klara, who is 24 years younger.
Despite the painful shock, after a few glasses of wine and emotional support from her pragmatic friend Tanja, Silke becomes determined to fight for her marriage. She drives to Klara’s place intent on confronting her husband; instead she runs into Klara’s ex, Felix.
They have little in common – she being a reserved and conservative housewife and he an attractive yet arrogant taxi driver, but both have lost their partner to a new lover. Silke and Felix have much to share on this agonizing topic, and after downing a few shots, which lessens both their pain and their resistance, the two end up spending the night together – with fateful consequences.
Silke is soon shattered to discover that she is pregnant. At her age, and with a man that is barely an adult himself? As expected, Felix distances himself from Silke, leaving her completely on her own.
She still wants to keep the baby, and finally Felix overcomes his resistance and decides to assume responsibility for his child. For Silke, the difficulties have just begun. Everyone is against her having the baby.
Even Richard is angry, seeing her pregnancy simply as a means of taking revenge on him. Another problem is the age gap between Silke and Felix, which often causes their tempers to flare. After one fierce argument, Felix leaves. Richard, who has also struggled with a much younger partner, now sees his chance to return to the sacred haven of marriage he has really come to miss.
He makes an offer to Silke – he will raise the child with her! To her surprise and Felix’s horror, she accepts…
