Although the single mom Eva knows a thing or two about finding love online, she is about to have an experience she could never have imagined.
Out of the blue, her mother Maggie confesses she has met a man who goes by the nickname “Stingray“ in a chat room.
Now they want to meet in real life, but because both of them had lied about their age, they each decide to send their children on the date to play their parts…
The date between Eva and Paul, “Stingray’s” son, is a disaster: Eva thinks that Paul is a snob and although he finds Eva attractive, Paul at first believes that she is as cold as ice. 
However, secretly watching their kids’ date from different vantage points and unaware that the other had also made a substitution, both parents are quite impressed by their alleged chat partners.
They each cannot wait to set up another date! But now some very complicating sparks are starting to fly: Eva and Paul fall for each other and end up in bed.
As if her life was not stressed-out enough, Eva’s teenage son Ben has a crush on a musician who is three years older and drowns his lovesickness in alcohol.
When Eva begins to feel overwhelmed by all the emotional chaos swirling around her, she turns to her boss and long-time friend Alexander for advice.
And what is his response during her moment of need? He proposes marriage! But who does she really love – Alexander or Paul?
After an emotional rollercoaster ride through numerous ups and downs Eva does eventually find her true love – offline.
