Prof. Kortner is a top-notch surgeon. During his holidays Sarah takes over for him. But on his first free day, Prof. Kortner crashes his bicycle into a pedestrian – with both ending up in Sarah’s ward at the hospital.
While there, the professor lets Sarah know that he is aware of Leo’s involvement with Vanessa, and offers to relocate the student to another hospital. Embarrassed by his knowledge of the affair, Sarah turns down his offer.
Just when Leo is beginning to set things straight with Sarah, Vanessa cruelly disrupts their fragile harmony by telling her of the numerous affairs Leo has had with assorted colleagues…
During the emotional chaos, a young girl exhibiting mysterious symptoms is admitted to the hospital. Leo assumes that the girl suffers from malaria, and after several tests, his suspicions are confirmed. Although this nerve-wracking situation has proven to Leo and Sarah that they do make a good team, Sarah declines his offer to make a fresh start.
A few days later, a healthy Kortner is back at work… and is immediately confronted with Sarah’s resignation. Will he succeed in convincing Sarah to stay – at least for the sake of the patients?
