In her mid-twenties, Annika is desperately searching for a permanent job. She has been working as an intern in the music industry for a long time and still lives with her parents. Her sister Paula lends a hand – by claiming on her next application that Annika is fluent in Finnish.
It works, delivering Annika the opportunity she has long awaited: the record label 'Grand Music' wants her to bring the talented boy band Rypeli from Finland to Germany and prepare them for a big band contest.
Unfortunately, Annika’s knowledge of Finnish is far from fluent, and instead of a sexy boy band, she books the amateur and problematic Finnish death metal band Ripili.
By the time she gets the band out of jail where they have been drying out, it is too late to find a replacement.
Having a difficult time breaking the news to her boss, Annika decides to win the contest with Matti, Erkki and Janne instead.
Annika is not only busy with getting the Finns back into shape and preventing her little mix-up from becoming known, she also has to deal with her rival Cora.
As if this was not enough, the wild Finns get kicked out of their hotel and Annika is forced to put them up at her home.
One misunderstanding leads to another, and after Annika’s plans for the group prove too ambitious, the three lose their enthusiasm and head home...
...despite Matti’s crush on Annika. Worst of all, Carlo learns of her scheme and fires her on the spot…
