Vienna Calling

Season I | Sitcom | 32 x 25’

Right in the heart of Vienna, the heroes of this daily comedy series live, love, lose and laugh their way through the sometimes hilarious and sometimes sobering situations that life throws their way.

In a friendly, chaotic communal house, a group of twenty-somethings – Verena, Lisa, Michi and Robert – experience all of the light-heartedness, craziness and occasional disappointment that goes with falling in love at that age.

Their “extended living room” is Mayerling, a cozy bar in the same apartment building where they like to hang out, which is run by the married couple Ossi and Claudia.

In their mid-thirties, Ossi and Claudia are dealing with a much different set of priorities than their younger patrons, such as the dilemma of whether or not it’s the right time to start a family.

For another couple, Christine and Walter, that question was answered long ago. Now in their mid-forties, this charming married couple with three children are struggling with the chaos of everyday life.

Their younger children Floh and Julia are still in school, but the eldest son Lukas will soon be starting college and feels it’s time to be on his own.

So the circle is complete – Lukas shacks up with Verena, Lisa and the rest in the communal household. These 13 people spanning three generations come delightfully together at three main locations, with their comical and emotional interactions giving this series its unusually distinctive and interesting flavor. “Vienna Calling” is both amusing and tragic, but entertaining to the core!
