Inspired by actual cases, each episode is based on one of the seven deadly sins: lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and vanity.

Lust is the driving motivation behind both a cold-blooded murder and a tragic accident. Sloth, or laziness, brings on fits of manic depression and an unsuccessful suicide attempt. A serial killer performs his deadly rituals out of simple greed.

Vanity lies behind an innocent young schoolgirl losing her life. Unable to stop eating, a dreadfully obese woman fatally falls prey to gluttony. Envy provokes the poisoning of unsuspecting victims and uncontrollable wrath leads to manslaughter.

What could cause such a horrific turn of events? Scientists, investigators and profilers have come to the conclusion that the deadly sins stand for human characteristics and are often the leading motives for horrible murders and tragic incidents.

By researching each case’s background, information is uncovered that helps illuminate the elusive motives behind the specific incident. As the pieces of the puzzle come together, shocking insights into the mental and emotional states of the people involved are revealed.

In almost mystical fashion, the reality of the seven deadly sins, defined centuries ago, appears to be proven by the most modern and extraordinary scientific breakthroughs.

Can it actually be true that a specific part of our own brain is responsible for such horrible brutality? What could possibly trigger these violent emotions? How come the seven deadly sins are on the agenda for psychologists and neuroscientists?
